Here’s a peek at my work process when working on an illustration:
I always start with a sketch! Nothing beats pencil and paper when drafting your ideas. Then, I like creating a color palette before I begin coloring the illustration.
I sometimes like trying out the palette by quickly brushing the colors onto the sketch just to see if the color palette works well for the scene.
Then, the coloring begins by drawing the shapes for each object in the scene. Below: drawing the face.
Adding the arms and body.
Drawing the shoes.
Completing the base colors and shapes of the character.
Adding the mountain and clouds.
Adding the trees and horizon for the background.
Adding the character details.
Adding the tree details.
Adding the mountain details and textures for the background.
