I was supposed to submit this for Illustration Friday’s “Immovable” topic. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to upload it last Thursday. I have to make sure I get to submit on time next week. Here it is anyway. This particular scene shows true friendship as immovable.

Through Stereoscopy, we can view flat images and turn them looking like 3-dimensional objects. This system allows us to trick human eyes giving the images an illusion of depth. One method to create this illusion is by using 3d glasses.
A very common type of 3d glasses is the red and blue glasses. How does it work? There are two images being displayed on the screen, one in red and the other in blue. Through the blue and red filters of the glasses, each eye will receive one of the images, making our brain perceive only one image in 3d. These days, the red and blue glasses are not used anymore for movie theaters. Instead, we use these as an alternative to watch 3d movies and videos at home.

There are only two seasons in a tropical country like the Philippines, the dry season and the wet season. I’m loving the cold weather lately. It’s a lot harder to wake up on days like these. The rainy season would be over soon, so I better enjoy it!
Dip pen holders, Pen nibs, India ink
By the way, I visited the art store last weekend and purchased dip pens and a bottle of India ink. I’m enjoying using them so far for my ink works. It’s quite difficult though to use them at first. Having these new tools makes me think of learning Calligraphy. I’ll find time for that. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve done for the week.

I came across this article from Kronikle featuring the sculptures of artist Dalton Ghetti. I use pencils a lot, for drawing of course, but artist Dalton Ghetti would usually use these to make sculptures. His pencil sculptures are really mind-blowing works of art, carefully crafted, which took him years to master. I especially love the sculptures with hanging pieces.
