Illustration WIP

Here’s a peek at my work process when working on an illustration:

I always start with a sketch! Nothing beats pencil and paper when drafting your ideas. Then, I like creating a color palette before I begin coloring the illustration.

I sometimes like trying out the palette by quickly brushing the colors onto the sketch just to see if the color palette works well for the scene.

Then, the coloring begins by drawing the shapes for each object in the scene. Below: drawing the face.

Editorial Project: Total Girl PH, April 2015 Issue

I’ve been incorporating textures to my illustrations little by little and I’m pretty happy with how these turned out. I’m still trying to learn the right technique so the learning and experimentation continues!

These are so far my favorite bunch of editorial illustrations. All these three illustrations are from Total Girl Philippines’ April 2015 issue.
