There are only two seasons in a tropical country like the Philippines, the dry season and the wet season. I’m loving the cold weather lately. It’s a lot harder to wake up on days like these. The rainy season would be over soon, so I better enjoy it!
Dip pen holders, Pen nibs, India ink
By the way, I visited the art store last weekend and purchased dip pens and a bottle of India ink. I’m enjoying using them so far for my ink works. It’s quite difficult though to use them at first. Having these new tools makes me think of learning Calligraphy. I’ll find time for that. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve done for the week.
“Rainy Season 1” - ink, watercolor, watercolor paper

“Summer Season 1” - ink, watercolor, watercolor paper
“Summer Season 2” - ink, watercolor, marker pens, watercolor paper

I agree! They’re such delightful illustrations! I used India ink a lot in my drawing classes in college (but with sticks and leaves and on overpriced pieces of paper) and I really enjoyed how well it flowed and how intense it can be! I hope you try calligraphy soon! I’d love to see it!

Hi Duelli! I bought this as a set, pen holders and nibs included. If you’re from the Philippines, it’s a Speedball pen set that I got from Deovir art store in SM Manila. Here’s a list of their stores: http://www.deovirarts.com/pages/Stores.html. I’ve seen a pen set too before in Fully Booked, it’s another brand though and a bit expensive. You may want to pay a visit to check if they still have it, but I think it’s better to check with Deovir instead. 🙂
How much did the nibs and the pen holder cost?
Gosh, I can’t remember anymore! But I think I got it for more than Php500.00 (over $10.00). 🙂
Plus, do you know gouache? You should try that medium! 🙂
Yes I do have gouache. I am not able to paint anymore these days though. I mostly just do vector illustrations. It would be fun though to do this kind of artwork again! 🙂
